Babacar Ba, an African-American actor of Senegalese descent, is a recent graduate of the University of Arizona with a BFA degree who’s eager to join the professional world!
He has a strong base in theatre and brings brightness to his characters on stage, but to film, brings a grounded naturalistic range. In the summer of 2023 Babacar’s lead role in the film Deserted, earned him a Best Actor win at the UofA Thesis Film Festival: ‘I Dream in Widescreen’.
From there the short film was taken to Southwest Regional Student Emmy Awards which won him an award for best talent. Using his training as a Black Belt in Taekwondo and a proficient tumbler, he furthered his acting training through stage combat and earned the title of Intermediate Actor Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors.
